Our challenge was to transform the Explore-At-Bristol Planetarium dome into an over-sized rotating mirror ball, complete with photo-real reflections. A 3D model of the dome was contructed in Maya Unlimited and rendered in Mental Ray. Each facet of the dome contained realistic reflections. The shots were composited and graded in Discreet Smoke. |
