The graphics illustrated how jungles change over time and how they can differ by geographical location. Photo-realistic killer figs, orchids and bees were built and animated in Maya Unlimited and composited in Discreet Smoke. We created time-lapse style CGI, illlustrating the strangler fig's sinister life cycle, and the rainforest reclaiming the ancient city of Angkor Wat. Volumetric representations of jungle habitats, based on scientific mapping data, were recreated as 3-D 'block worlds', enabling viewers to take a virtual, roller-coaster tour through scientific data. |
