Years were compressed into seconds, to illustrate major geological events, the advance and retreat of glaciers, the creation of the Grand Canyon, the formation of the Himalayas...

"...It was undeniably stunning. A speeded-up glacier flows down a New Zealand mountain, Egyptian rocks are blasted into beautiful shapes by wind and sand...the Grand Canyon is carved out by water in the Arizona Desert..." Sam Wollaston - The Guardian

"...breathtaking nature with rivers slicing solid rock...this CGI-heavy look at Earth's long, long, long history, a series designed to show the inexorable forces that shape the plant. Impressive." Jonathan Wright - The Guardian

" BBC natural history programmes are second to none, and this impressive series proves it. With the help of whizzy graphics, centuries are crushed into seconds..." Nigel Andrew - Daily Mail

"...special effects in this series are, quite simply, breathtaking."
Jane Rackham - Radio Times
